Opened the doors for the first Mingel in Tysvær
On Thursday, March 5, Tysvær municipality hosted their very first Mingel – at the new Frakkagjerd Secondary School. The evening brought together both new and familiar faces for pizza, presentations and playful competitions in the school’s impressive facilities.
The afternoon started with pizza and mingling, where the participants had time to get to know each other and have a chat. Many were also curious to take a closer look at the new secondary school, which opened last autumn. The circular building has a bright heart-shaped room under a large glass dome, and formed a great setting for the evening.

Live and work in Tysvær municipality
After mingling, the attendees learnt more about the municipality.
Mayor Monika Lindanger talked about Frakkagjerd Secondary School and shared insights on what it’s like to live and work in Tysvær. Thea Augustson and Kristine Olden Tveit then presented their day-to-day work in the municipality, giving an overview of exciting projects within construction, water and wastewater.
Jan Sigurd Steffensen from Nord-Rogaland Bedriftsorientering also presented the organisation’s activities, and explained why orienteering is an activity that benefits both body and mind.

Building networks – and marshmallow towers
After the presentations, it was time for the evening’s rebus activity around the school. Participants tackled several creative challenges, including building the longest-flying paper airplane and constructing towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
The activity was led by Marthe Fosse, HR Advisor at Tysvær municipality, who also played a key role in organising the event. The competitive spirit quickly kicked in within several of the teams, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere.
